Feminist Lunch Talks at University of Copenhagen

Four lunch talks at the University of Copenhagen will this autumn put focus on feminist aspects of themes like big data, gender diversity and girls in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).

The Feminist Lunch Talks are organised by the Coordination for Gender Research and will all be online events with a Zoom link sent to the participants.

It is free to participate, but registration is required for each event. The individual events have a limit of 30 participants.

Program 

September30th, 12.00 - 13.00: "In programming I don’t give myself a gender”: Complicating gender binaries in computer science.
Speaker: Samantha Dawn Breslin, assistant professor, Department of Anthropology/ Copenhagen Center for Social Science Data (SODAS), UCPH.

October 21st, 12.00 -13.00: Gendered Formations of Educational Interests and Aspirations - Girls in STEM

October 28th, 12.00 - 13.00: Knowledge Hierarchies and Gender stratification in Danish Academia – Presentation of a new research project.
Speakers:  Julien Larregue, postdoc, and Mathias Vullum Nielsen, associate professor, Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen.
