In this commentary, Claire Maxwell reflects on the main themes that emerge across the papers published in a special issue on Intractable Conflict in the Age of Globalisation. Despite the focus on Israel, she argues that the key findings have relevance to other contexts. This commentary seeks specifically to identify spaces for optimism in a context often categorised as highly stratified and engaged in an intractable conflict.
