Silvia Girardi

Silvia Girardi is Postdoctoral Researcher at the Employment Relations Research Centre (FAOS), Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen.

She holds a Ph.D. from the KU Leuven (Belgium), where in 2022 she defended her Ph.D. thesis entitled: “Contributing to social inclusion? Implementation and outcomes of the activation of social assistance recipients. The case of Luxembourg”.

Silvia Girardi is a member of the research group FAOS (Employment Relations Research Centre) and part of the research groups "Welfare, Inequality and Mobility" and "Knowledge, Organization and Politics" at the Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen. She is also part of the European COST Action Network CA21118 – Platform Work Inclusion Living Lab (P-WILL).

Aktuel forskning

The ongoing research includes among others:

TransEuroWorkS is an innovative, multi-disciplinary and multi-level research project providing analysis and policy recommendations for the future world of European work and social protection. WP5 focuses on New Forms of Work and Social Dialogue. Its goal is to improve our understanding of the rise of contractual flexibility in the European labour markets related to digitalization, the green transition, and globalisation. 

GIG-OSH project deals with the new challenges for occupational safety and health in times of the digital transformation in Europe, specifically the role of digital labour platforms.
