N2 - This article delves into the traditional perception of disability as an individual obstacle that pre-vails in legislation and practices around disabled individuals. Drawing on empirical data from two ongoing research projects, the articles build on Danish legislation and qualitative interviews with young people and adults with cerebral palsy. We analyze how disability is categorized in legislation and in practices as an individual problem. The article engages in discussions on how disability can be understood as an interactional and societal concern. Additionally, we propose approaches for “cripping” practices by drawing on insights from Crip Studies, with focus on de-problematizing disability and incorporating disabled perspectives with the aim of fostering a society through this lens, that is more welcoming to diverse ways of being human. Keywords: Disability, crip studies, youth, adults, daycare.Handicap som fraværende tilstedeværelse
