Henning Bech leaves behind a thought-provoking and comprehensive sociological piece of work on sexuality, phenomenological analysis and how social and cultural scientists can practice critical and affirmative research that is relevant to citizens and the public. Bech has been our teacher, supervisor, colleague, and friend and in this essay, we take stock of some of the main features of his original work and discuss its potentials for future research in relation to sexuality, gender and
the sociology of the ‘tunings’ and pleasure more broadly.
